Graduate Reflections

2023-4-25 | Pastor Chuck Potts

We are just a few weeks away from the end of another school year.  As ECC’s graduates from the class of 2023 conclude their high school experiences and move into this next phase of life as young adults, we’ve asked them to take some time to reflect on their experiences and relationships here at ECC. Here are some of their reflections and thoughts for our ECC community:

ALEX FOCOSI: I had the wonderful opportunity to experience winter camp (aka Deep Freeze) twice in middle school. I enjoyed all the games our group participated in along with the time I spent growing in my faith. One year we won the Stumpball championship which was awesome as well as participating in the Polar Plunge. Recently, I have had fun helping with Kids Out Loud. It’s been neat to be on the other side of the ministry I grew up attending as a kid.

BEN WANINGER: My favorite ECC memory was going to winter camp this year. Being able to do fun activities and grow in my faith with my friends is something I really treasure. I really appreciate having an active youth group now (post-Covid) and having the opportunity to make new friends and get to know people better.

NATE WANINGER: ECC has been a great place for me to develop in faith and as a person, and get to know people. Winter Camp 2023 is definitely my favorite memory while at ECC. It was great to get to know the youth and adults better and build relationships with them.

ELISE LOUK: ECC has provided me with friends and family that I know I can turn to in times of need. Their constant support of my faith, life, and well-being has influenced my life greatly and will continue to impact me. I am forever grateful for my ECC family and the impact they have made on my life.

REINA SHEETS: Dear ECC, thank you for all of the support and care you’ve shown me and thank you for all of the knowledge you have shared with me! I want to say thank you to the staff and members who have encouraged me to try new things and for helping me find my way towards God. I have enjoyed going to Winter Camps, and I’ve learned so much from Kids Out Loud, youth group, and sermons. Coming to ECC most of my childhood, I have seen many people come and go. And while it will soon be my turn to go and make my own ways in life, I will always remember the lessons I’ve been taught here. I will continue learning more about God and growing in my faith. I appreciate everything this church has done for me, and I will try my best to show the same kindness to others.

NATHAN PARK:  ECC has been a safe haven for me in the past 17 years I have been attending this church. From the bottom of my heart, I would like to thank every pastor and staff at ECC for helping me in my journey to become closer with God. I would also like to thank every Sunday School Teacher that taught me the wonderful word of God. Finally, I would like to give a special thanks to Mr. Kevin and Mrs. Kim, as we are the best Sunday School Team at ECC.
